My icons on my Microsoft word docuemnts no longer appear with a (W) instead a calculator appears. I can right click on the document and click on properties and i have no option to change the icon like you can do on your desktop. Also backup documents are being created and I do not know why? how do I stop that process from occurring.

To change the icon associated with .doc (Word 2003 or earlier) or .docx (Word 2007) files, start Windows Explorer or My Computer, click on Tools | Folder Options | File Types tab, scroll down to the .doc or .docx file type and click once on it to select it, and click on Advanced | Change Icon.

maybe take a look through the preferences or settings, im not too sure, or you could look under the help category and ask a question there might be an article on it
