Microsoft wireless keyboard, please help!!?

I bought my husband a Microsoft Wireless keyboard and mouse for his birthday, since connecting it we have had a few hiccups, but the most recent one is that the keyboard seems to go to sleep after just a few minutes of inactivity, using the 'sleep' button is ineffective, and the only way to get it to work again is to restart the whole thing, which is time consuming and so infuriating.

Does anybody know why this happens and how to stop it from happening, and in laymans terms if possible, hubby is at work, it would be so good to have it sorted for when he gets back. Thanks :-)

might be frequncy interference. move anything like speakers, other wireless items, and cell phone away from the mouse and keyboard.

other than that, send microsoft an email or call them about it so that they can get you tech support.

Hi. As Sashawhitefur said, make sure the batteries are fresh first. The receiver for the mouse and keyboard should have line of site to them. If the mouse is working but the keyboard is not the keyboard may be defective. You could install the old keyboard to make sure it isn't a computer problem. Good luck!
Always make sure the keyboard has fresh batteries in it.
if the batteries came with the product they arent usually very good e.g. dont last very long try soe duracell batteries or rechargeables
