Microsoft Word..LOCKED!?

So i'm doing scholarship apps. on microsoft word student and office 2007, and when I try to re-open things to change thigs, or a new document, I cant type or edit because it says "cant do this modification because this selection is locked" what?!?! how do i fix this??? please help!!! i hav e a deadline!!!

If you are using a trial version and you have used your allotted trys, you will get locked. Many new computers have trials and not the complete program loaded when you purchase them. Mine did. There was an icon on the windows window for student office 2007 and if yours is a trial it will tell you that and you can either pay for the software on a link there, so purchase another copy from the store and load it and register it.

If your computer has a full paid version on it, call microsoft office help or they have a website to help you get it going again.

Download a fresh trial version. I had the same thing happen to me recently.
If you can in mircrosoft word try this can see if it helps

go to - VIEW, TOOLBARS, FORMS

AND WHEN U CLICK ON FORMS A LITTLE BOX WILL APPEAR AND YOU WILL SEE A LITTLE KEY LOCK ICON AT THE RIGHT END CLICK THAT AND SEE IF IT HELPS.
It sounds like a trial version that was good for 25 uses or 30, 60 or 90 days. At the end of that time, and apparently without warning, it will let you read your files, but not edit them or create new ones. You have to purchase Microsoft Office 2007, or at least Word 2007, to do that.
