Microsoft Works Activation Key Help (UK)?

I have purchased a new laptop from my local supermarket here in the UK. It has the new Microsoft Works preinstalled. I have tried to get it to work but it needs an activation key. I do not wish to connect my new laptop to the internet. Any ideas how I get hold of this activation Key. The HP helpline have been unable to help me.

As Microsoft Works is the product you are having difficulty with, wouldn't it be more useful for you to discuss this problem with Microsoft by accesssing their website on the computer you are currently connecting to the internet? If you can identify the product, they may be able to E-mail you the key??
The activation key should been supplied with the laptop. It may even be on the bottom of the laptop next to the windows activation key. If you can't find it, speak to the supermarket you bought it from.
Most stuff like that is a limited trial program. You have to buy it to get an activation key!

In the old days programs could be bought by one person and it could end up on 500 computers. Microsoft put a stop to that when XP first came out and made it one copy, one machine to stop the piracy!

That's why everything has to be validated now that is a genuine copy and not a pirate one.
