Microsoft Vista Premium?

I am currently running Windows XP. I would like to upgrade to Vista Home Premium. I have been told that Microsoft Vista are having problems with Google, playing even easy online games such as chess and will not work with certain peripherals ( printers, scanners etc. ). Is this correct ?

This may be correct for Visa in general. Since Vista is new, there are some peripherals that won't work correctly with Vista.

My suggestion is to keep running Windows XP until they come out with an update for Vista that fixes some of the problems Vista has now.

I am using Vista Home, and even with 2GB of RAM if feels slow. I would suggest keeping XP. I will probably reinstall XP later onto this computer. Vista juts feels slow and doesn't really offer that many things different from XP. Eventually we will all need to upgrade to Vista, but my advice is to wait till they improve it and the price goes down.

Unless you're an expert DO NOT INSTALL LINUX.

People have had trouble installing drivers and running web applications but its getting better and better by the day. Most manufacturers have rewritten the drivers for Vista.

XP is a pretty good os and there is no reason to upgrade. Its not worth the money to pay for an upgrade but if you wait until you next buy a pc then go for it.
i had a Vista home basic just purchased 2 months ago, and i have got so many problems with it.. the computer is too slow, and it crashes when i open an application. Compared to XP, xp is faster. When i use skype, my vista loaded computer keeps on chopping and crashes, it stops and there is had drive activity when in fact i am not opening any. don't know, maybe i just got a defective laptop. it is still under observation now.
Not a great deal of stuff out there is fully Vista compatible.
