Having asked for some advice about Microsoft home edition, thanks to all who replied, I needed to get a copy to get my daughters computer up and running, Someone advised me to try E.BAY, well im glad i did. a bona-fide copy of windows home edition cost me with postage 拢65..Buying this product from PC World would have cost me 拢179... Now who is ripping who off..Ebay or not, why is there such a big difference in the price of this product..Thanks once again to all who gave advice..I myself will certainly shop around in future.... well for starters pc world will not buy it in for 拢179, they would have got it in cheap as chips. Secondly, off ebay it might have been used and MAY contain viruses. Thirdly, the computer should have come prepared with Microsoft home edition on it.
Hope this helps

There is a big difference in price because the seller just didn't charge as much. There are many good honest sellers on eBay, I've done business there for years. I'm glad you got a legitimate copy of XP Home for such a good price. I don't know what that computes to in U.S. dollars, but it sure sounds good!
I bought XP home at walmart for $94.00
Make sure your copy of Windows XP is indeed genuine. Microsoft has stepped up its efforts to stop piracy of its software. To that end, all copies of Windows XP must undergo the validation process. If your copy is genuine then you got lucky because software sold on Ebay is notorious for being pirated copies. A genuine copy of Windows XP Home Edition, on average, sells for $89.00 (U.S. Dollars) - sorry but I don't know the amount in pounds. For example, newegg.com, a very popular online computer technology vendor, sells Windows XP Home Edition as low as $69.00 USD. Don't forget the adage "buyer beware." If it sounds too good to be true then it is mostly not genuine.
