Microsoft virtual p.c?spyware removal

Virtual PC works great for these tasks. I use it all the time on my Windows XP desktop. I usually run things like Window Server 2003 in the virtual environment, but it works for Windows 98 and even Windows 3.1. The risks are minimal because if you really mess up the installed virtual environment, you just delete it and start over. You'll want to have plenty of disk space as each environment will usually take up 1 to 2 GB.

Micrsoft Virtual PC is severely limited to business use only as it requires Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise and Windows Vista Ultimate.

I've heard rumours that Microsoft has blocked downloads and installations for Windows XP Home Edition, Windows Vista Home Basic and Home Premium Editions due to risks that people are taking.

If you wanted to use older versions of Windows on a emulator, I'd stick with QEMU and a portable version of QEMU Manager to use on a USB media. :p
