I have a question regarding security: I threw out the Microsoft Office package probably by mistake while cleaning the room, but I keep the CDs. This package have product code on it, so is this a security risk? Is it possible for one to get software through Internet with product code?
You can if you have bill for this cd purchased or have registered this product with microsoft online.
so do you need the code?
As long as you have genuine CDs, contact Microsoft. They should be able to generate a new code for you if your copy is legit. If it's already installed they can tell you how to retrieve the existing key.

Hai Ritu,
Here you mentioned that you are connected to *.mdb, so it is not to a single database, like db1.mdb ?
You cannot access lot of mdb's through a single dsn.
If this is not the case, then you need to verify that the dsn you created is existing ? and it is the same as that you have mentioned in the programming.
One more thing is that you said you are working in an application,
Is that a Web Application, later you said you are using JSP ?
this microsoft is sending me warning .even i ignore it they sending me again %26 again.
If you are using illegal copies of Microsoft software, you will continue to get the messages. For a free, reliable and up to date operating system, plus all the free software that you will ever need see:
is it being sent by M$ itself? that could be from some spamer as well. . . .if it is frm MS, there will be a unsubscribe link on the bottm of the mail. ..
It would be helpful if you described what the warning message says.
What exactly is the warning message? It may not be from Microsoft, but part of a spyware program designed to trick you into thinking there's something really wrong (called phishing).
Does publisher get sold by itself, or in a large package? For example, Microsoft Office 2002 has every thing but Publisher. Please list the packages that includes Publisher.
all the professional packages would offer publisher and yes it is available seperately
i think office 2000 pro has publisher on it
I am wondering if it is possible to program Microsoft Office 2007 so that I can create a letterhead template with my company name as header. It would be best if I could program Office so that I may go File... New... Letterhead...
Thanks Ryan
I don't have 2007, but I'd search the Help file for how to create new templates.
In previous versions, the default template was called Normal.dot and to change it, you open that template, make the changes and save it.
There is most likely a template for an invoice in Word, access may have a template which can create an easy invoice system for you, it will be very generic but functional, that should include reports which you can print directly or send to word for more formatting.
I have not used templates in a long time or wizards but I believe you will have an option to get online templates in word if you just go to the file menu and select new. I am not sure in 2007 exactly where that would show up but it is usually to the right of the screen.
In Access the same thing, File New and to the right, or someplace, there should be a wizard you can use to create a database application.
You can also find a template and or wizard in Excel.
What is the name of the song that they played on tv? Its was a microsoft zune commercial with the artist "MIMS" --- "this is why I'm hot" , but i know its a remix but what is the remix called?

I have been told that microsoft gives free domain and webhosting but i dont know what is URL of that website can u please tell me URL where there is webhosting and domain give by Microsoft???
They (microsoft) will charge you after free period and they are quite expensive. I was planning to go for them but they charge lot more than other after free period.
. Following webhosting site is quite good.
Hostmonster http://snipurl.com/1512d
They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 200000 MB (200 GB ). They only charge $4.95/month and they also offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you may create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

i need an emulator for Microsoft Virtual PC or something so i can run windows on mac i dont need the up dates i need the program deose any one no ne sites for a free download?
I am not aware of any free emulator to run Windows on Macs. I love both formats, but you will have a miserable experience as it is SLOW.
The only applications I would run in the emulator on the Mac is business-type stuff, life word or excel. Forget running any games or graphic-intensive files. It is too SLOW.
does anyone know if i can really downlaid microsoft office 2004 for a mac on limwire of anywhere else. if you have done it does it work well?
Microsoft Office is copyrighted commercial software, you have to go out and buy it. Alternatively you can use Open Office for free and it does has a mac version you can get it at www.openoffice.org
I am running Windows 98 Second edition. Everytime I'm in the middle of something like trying to put something on ebay. Or following a link in an email this happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ( Microsoft error report, and option of send report or don't send report. Either one that you check it is the same result.) Very annoying. Thanks in advance for your help!
I bet you use internet explorer.
try another navigator, like firefox, or opera, etc etc,
they're safer, faster and more reliable.
Without the actual error code, I couldn't help much.
Next time make a note of the full error code, you can take this to the Windows Knowledge base and look it up.

Having asked for some advice about Microsoft home edition, thanks to all who replied, I needed to get a copy to get my daughters computer up and running, Someone advised me to try E.BAY, well im glad i did. a bona-fide copy of windows home edition cost me with postage 拢65..Buying this product from PC World would have cost me 拢179... Now who is ripping who off..Ebay or not, why is there such a big difference in the price of this product..Thanks once again to all who gave advice..I myself will certainly shop around in future.... Dave
well for starters pc world will not buy it in for 拢179, they would have got it in cheap as chips. Secondly, off ebay it might have been used and MAY contain viruses. Thirdly, the computer should have come prepared with Microsoft home edition on it.
Hope this helps
There is a big difference in price because the seller just didn't charge as much. There are many good honest sellers on eBay, I've done business there for years. I'm glad you got a legitimate copy of XP Home for such a good price. I don't know what that computes to in U.S. dollars, but it sure sounds good!
I bought XP home at walmart for $94.00
Make sure your copy of Windows XP is indeed genuine. Microsoft has stepped up its efforts to stop piracy of its software. To that end, all copies of Windows XP must undergo the validation process. If your copy is genuine then you got lucky because software sold on Ebay is notorious for being pirated copies. A genuine copy of Windows XP Home Edition, on average, sells for $89.00 (U.S. Dollars) - sorry but I don't know the amount in pounds. For example, newegg.com, a very popular online computer technology vendor, sells Windows XP Home Edition as low as $69.00 USD. Don't forget the adage "buyer beware." If it sounds too good to be true then it is mostly not genuine.
So i just added gmail as my account in Microsoft Office however this error message has come up
Task 'Gmail - Sending' reported error (0x80070057) : 'Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid.'
What does this mean and how can i fix it?
you shouldn't need to change your ports -- gmail uses default ports.
It sounds like maybe your servers are not right.
WHen setting up account in outlook you should spcify that it is a POP3 email account.
The give this as the POP server address
pop.gmail.com
and this as the STMP server address
smtp.gmail.com
For your username put your gmail address (yourname@gmail.com) and depending on your version of outlook it may or may not ask if your outgoing mail server (SMTP is the outgoing) requires authentication. IT DOES REQUIRE AUTH. so if it didnt ask you that -- go into the account settings, (yoou might have to click "more settings" or somthing like that. and look under the "servers" tab -- near the bottom there is a check box that says "outgoing mail server requires auth" --- make sure that is checked.
Above user is right check out your pop3 and smtp protocols.
Hi!
Make sure you ENABLED POP3 and SMTP access on your Gmail. If not, go to Settings, etc...
Then, try again.
Good luck!
You probably need to change your ports (SMTP and POP3).
Good luck.
I am thinking about getting a xbox 360, but I have a question. I went to the official xbox website and printed a list of games from the original xbox that are backwards compatible. I know that a download is necessary to run backwards compatible games. My question is, has anyone tried a game that is not on the list from Microsoft? Any luck with it? One game that I have that is not on the list but I am curious about is the game Mercenaries. Anyone tried that one on the 360?
Yes. I have. It says:
This disc is not compatible with your XBOX360 console.
Code Z000005
To get an update software for your XBOX360 enter
xbox.com/backwardscompatibility
My microsoft word program isnt working, it keeps popping up. taking about three to five mins. to load and then it flickers in and out of a white screen.... then i get a popup saying there was an error, and it gives me a option to send an error report, or not to send it.....
notepad and wordpad are the only other programs that came with my computer... and neither of them can do any of the things that MW can do , and i need almost all of its functions for this one project that i have to turn in by next week, what do you suggest i do? is there a way to fix MW? can you reccomend another (free?) program that i can download and use?
I suggest you scan your system for virues and spyware. Next, uninstall Word --but not until you have found the install CD and product key and reinstall it. If the product is stolen, pirated or illegal it can behave like this. It can also do this if it's expired. Some systems come with a 90-day (or less) "timebombed" version of Office (that includes Word) that stop working after a period of time.
hth
You can try this tool to fix it:

Good luck!

It helps quite often.
Try OpenOffice. It's a free office suite from Sun Microsystems, and contains the same office products as Microsoft office. Even better, if you have started your project in Word, Open Office will open it and you can go from there. Figure out your problem with Word later.
http://www.openoffice.org/
Use AbiWord - free and smaller download than open office
http://www.filehippo.com/download_abiwor...
or you can use an online word processor called Zoho Writer - it's free and you can save your docs to your computer
http://writer.zoho.com/jsp/home.jsp?serv...
Have you tried restarting your computer...

I installed microsoft excel a few years ago and typed in crude information in the fields of "product liscensee" and "company".
now i have to turn in excel files for school and need to change it so my professor doesn't think im an idiot.
plz help? kthx
Open your document, then do:
File, Properties, Summary
Change the Author and Company.
You would have to do this to every document. An alternative is to un-install your program and re-install it using more appropriate names. Then you'd only have to change the ones you want the crude information on. :)
The link below is what Microsoft says you can do in your Registry to change the items:
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinde...
This is the best product to do exactly what you are looking to do.
ok i got a file in microsoft word that i want to print it out. the problem is, there would be too many pages if i print it out. is there is way where i can format it such that when i print it out, it would be DOUBLE SIDED with 2 columns on each side. so basically, i can have 4 pages of notes onto 1 piece of paper.
the first person who provides a step by step method will get the 10 points
This depends if your printer will allow double-sided printing or not.
When done, click on File and then Print. Now, to be able to print on both sides is dependent on your printer. Generally, a laser printer may have a double-sided print function but some inkjet ones may have it. Click on Properties and from there, navigate your way until you find PRINT ON BOTH SIDES or something similar. Also, while you're there, change the page layout to "2 IN 1". This means two pages will fit on one page.
If your printer doesn't have that 2 IN 1 function, click on Format at the top and click on Columns. From there, click on 2 and click OK. Copy and paste your text and adjust the size to fit on the columns.
Click Print!
the request of yours is called duplex printing

in your control settings you should be able to find system restore. Then just choose a date to restore your system to (choose a date before your computer started acting up). If you can not find system restore, go to the search function on your computer and type in system restore. That's how I always used to find it.
Can be caused by RAM overload or when we issue two or more commands too close together. It confuses the PC so it locks.
Try cleaning house for starters:
- Many users are not aware of how much RAM is used by wallpaper and/or a screensaver full of graphics. They run in the background and consume memory. (I have only 512mb RAM, run multiple programs simultaneously, and have set my wallpaper and screensaver to blank.)
I don鈥檛 do games, but I do know they are primarily graphics which need and use a lot of memory.
If someone sends an email from Microsoft Outlook, how do you get it to go to your Yahoo email?
If you want to use Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or other third party email clients to view your email you have 2 options.
Subscribe to mail plus:
http://billing.mail.yahoo.com/bm/Upgrade...
or download and install YPOPS
http://ypopsemail.com/
then follow the directions for your version of outlook here,
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or...
If you have trouble with set up, check the YPOPS installation page for alternate set up instructions.
http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/
I currently utilize the most recent version of Thunderbird (2.0.0.4)
and version 0.8.3 of YPOPS (there is a more recent version of YPOPS if you are interested) and have no problems.
If you are using yahoo email beta you need to upgrade to yahoo mail plus to get the full pop service
http://billing.mail.yahoo.com/bm/Upgrade...
You can use Yahoo! Mail Plus to send messages from an external email address, even if you don't receive or "pop" messages from that account. This means that you can configure Yahoo! Mail Plus to send all your email from one place and choose the address you use to send each message. (Of course, being able to send messages from an external email address is especially useful if you also check external (POP) mail and want to reply to emails that were sent to you at a different email address
Make poor people can't effort the latest gadget of computing %26 who should be blame Microsoft Vista or Hardware Which is Support it %26 Running it.
Vista has nothing to do with the price. You can get a vista operated pc for 300, the hardware is what makes the computer the most expensive. So, actually the hardware is to blame.
Almost all current computers can suppport vista. It is neither the hardware nor the software, it is the people who fall susceptible to product advertising and other things that companies do to sell you stuff.
The people who fall susceptible to these things I refer to as consumers. If you don't do what the retail stores tell you to or shop at them, and shop online at somewhere like newegg you will save a lot of money around upwards of 50%.
And also Vista is not based on XP which is actually a good thing because microsoft has not really put out anything new since NT platform. We should all have applauded microsoft for this unappreciated feat of actually putting out a new OS and not just re-shelling the old one. And actually If you bought a half decent computer and not a cheap one when XP came out you should still support vista. This is because It is the PC platform. Almost all PC platform OSes are intercompatible but not with the Mac platform. This can all get very confusing.
Do you think in the years to come, Microsoft will find it a lot harder to compete with the new (hip) Apple? Specifically in Software. Apple also dominates the online music industry, they're computer hardware sets world standerd, can't forget Ipods and the Iphone are a household name now.
Will Microsoft lose it's grip on the world due to Apple? Will Apple take it's place?
Apple will pwn Microsoft's ***!
Doubtful. The biggest problem that Apple faces is that their computer hardware is expensive. Microsoft doesn't sell computer hardware, they just sell software, so Windows can run on practically anything. But the cost of Macs is the biggest barrier to getting market penetration. I build my own computers, and I can build two screaming PCs for the cost of one iMac, plus I have the ability to customize my own hardware to a higher degree. For most people, the bottom line is the bottom line. If Apple were to drop prices by about 25% then they might make more progress, but at this point the high cost is a barrier that will be difficult to overcome.
No.
A lot of Apple fanboys would like to think that, but it just simply won't happen. Let's face it, Macs cost more money, have few games and a lot of people wouldn't call them "hip".
Whenever I try and copy anything from any website and try to paste it on the microsoft works word processor, it says the information you have copied exceeds the size limit and you may want to reduce your selection and try again. I even tried to copy and paste on word and it still says that. Do you know what could be wrong?
Thanks
I think the best thing you can do is to change your random access memory stick (RAM). Its probably not working properly.
I am looking to see if it is possible in Microsoft Excel 2000 to increase the maximum number of arguments in a nested "IF" function from 8 to 31. If so, then how do I increase the maximum number?
You can't increase the maximum number of nested IFs, but there may be other ways to accomplish the same thing.
If you provide more details about what you would like to do we can be more specific, but here a couple of options that may help.
1) if the values you're checking are 1,2,3, etc. then the CHOOSE function gets you close, since it allows up to 29 values to be checked. So you can have two formulas (value being checked in A1):
=IF(A1%26lt;=29, CHOOSE(A1, firstaction, secondaction, etc. to 29th action), CHOOSE(A1-29, 30th action, 31st action))
2) Otherwise, the LOOKUP functions often work -- in most cases, VLOOKUP in particular. If you're not familiar with VLOOKUP, it searches for a value in the leftmost column of a table, and then returns a value in the same row from a column you specify in the table. HLOOKUP is similar but looks across the top row of a table. See Excel help, or this link for more info:
http://www.officearticles.com/excel/vloo...
If you need more info, add more details or e-mail.
Cheers.
.
There is no way to increase the number of allowed nested arguments that I am aware of.
Having said that, a way you could work around this is to break it up across multiple cells. So in one cell you evaluate 8 nested if's that end up returning either true or false. Then in the next cell you use the output of the previous cell to trigger the next set of nested if's.
how do you get into microsoft anna on windows vista???
Control panel %26gt; Ease of access center.
I am trying to write a report at the moment and the numbering on Microsoft Word 2003 is driving me mad!!!!!!
I want to get something like this
1.
1.1
1.2
1.3
1.4
1.5
2.
1.1
1.2
(This is where its not working, I want to continue the numbering like 2.1, 2.2......... but it wont let me ive tried format%26gt; bullets and numbering and then customizing but every time i change it to say 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 it changes all the 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 numbers to 2.1, 2.2, 2.3........)
hope ive been clear enough, please help because i need to present my report like this and because its not working its brought me to a halt lol
i know... it's a pain. As far as I can remember to get 1.1 under the number 1 you have to indent it. Then for everything after that indent. The number 2 will then be unindented.
It seems to me that you want 2.1, 2.2 but you're doing something that's changing the numbers under 1. also.
It sounds like you want Outline Numbering (different tab on the same Bullets and Numbering dialog box), which should do what you want automatically. For each sub-number set, press the Tab key as the first character on the line and it will automatically indent and renumber. To go back one level, press Shift/Tab instead.
Hope that helps.
The easiest option would be to turn off the autonumbering/bullets and do the numbers manually.
how do i create a Microsoft Visual C++ program that would use sequential sorting if i want to display the numbers defined by any user in ascending order and bubble sorting if the user wants to display the numbers in descending order?
check out http://www.pscode.com for great sample codes.
Here are a couple of good websites to check out.
http://www.codeproject.com
http://www.codeguru.com
I am sure if you searched those sites, you will find a bunch of sorting algorithims.
They usually distribute both the executable file and the source files.
You probably have to register in order to download, but it is free.
Don't use a bubble sort. It is the second slowest sort there is. (The only slower one that I know of is the serial search sort.)
Even the shell sort in Kerningham and Ritchie's C manual is almost reasonable. It is 4-5 lines of code so even if you duplicate it for ascending and descending it is quite reasonable to use.
Note: You can usually get rid of the slow divide by 2 with a bitwise right-shift %26gt;%26gt;
i recently buy a microsoft small biz server 2003 standard edition, i started out to install the software by booting my system from my DVD drive on my intended computer for server installation, but when i try to install on the selected drive, it notify an error saying my harddisk do not have the compatible partition with the windows, but in fact i have an ntfs format on that partition,i delete the partition and try again, but it notify me the same error and tell me to create a partition with the compatible format, i know from my prior experience that the partition can only be created during installation, but it refuse my to install, so how can i do
If you have a RAID subsystem you will need to press F6 and insert the floppy with the RAID drivers - even if you are not running a RAID array. I also once had this problem with an incompatible mainboard loading XP!
When you're in Microsoft Excel and you're typing something into a box, how to get the to be several lines long and not just one big line across the whole screen? For instance....
aaaaaabbbbbbbb
cccccccdddddddd
instead of....
aaaaaabbbbbbbbccccccccddddddd
Right click the cell, choose "Format cells", choose the second tab, and click "Word wrap" or "wrap text".
This will make it fit the space provided. If you want to choose where to break the lines, paste in text with more than one line -- or press Alt-Enter to get a newline within a cell.
with your cursor in the cell, right-click and choose Format Cells. Click on Alignment tab and mid-way down by Text Control, click on Wrap text, then click on OK to close dialogue box. Anything you type in that cell will wrap like you indicated above. You can highlight a number of cells in a row or column and apply the same formatting.
Or, just follow Cliff's suggestion above
Sorry trade secret! I didn't tell you this, but... check no one is watching... if you press alt+Enter you will get a carriage return in your text. but you didn;t hear it from me...
Try re-sizing the cell and/or using the "wrap text" option.
ALT enter
Right click the box, or click
format%26gt;cells%26gt;format cells
Then click ALIGNMENT
Then click WRAP AROUND, or WRAP TEXT
Hope that helps
Try "text wrapping."
Right click. Whoops - Charles describes it correctly above.
I installed the 60 day trial of Microsoft 2007 and I didn't uninstall it, I removed a folder I wasn't supposed to get rid of. Now when I try to re-install it, a message pops up telling me a required file is either missing or corrupted and telling me to run setup again but I keep getting the same message. Any idea what I can do? And by the way system restore does not work for me. I tried shutting Norton off too, nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You probably have to buy the the program becuase you only have a 60 day trial
you may have deleted the file that keeps track of time (just a guess) and they think ur 60 days are over
1. Go to control Panel
2. Go to Add/Remove programs
3. Wait for the computer to list the programs
4. Select the Microsoft Office 2007 Trial (or something like that) and select Remove or any options that suggests removing or modifying the program
5. Follow the uninstallation wizard.
I am currently running Windows XP. I would like to upgrade to Vista Home Premium. I have been told that Microsoft Vista are having problems with Google, playing even easy online games such as chess and will not work with certain peripherals ( printers, scanners etc. ). Is this correct ?
This may be correct for Visa in general. Since Vista is new, there are some peripherals that won't work correctly with Vista.
My suggestion is to keep running Windows XP until they come out with an update for Vista that fixes some of the problems Vista has now.
I am using Vista Home, and even with 2GB of RAM if feels slow. I would suggest keeping XP. I will probably reinstall XP later onto this computer. Vista juts feels slow and doesn't really offer that many things different from XP. Eventually we will all need to upgrade to Vista, but my advice is to wait till they improve it and the price goes down.
Unless you're an expert DO NOT INSTALL LINUX.
People have had trouble installing drivers and running web applications but its getting better and better by the day. Most manufacturers have rewritten the drivers for Vista.
XP is a pretty good os and there is no reason to upgrade. Its not worth the money to pay for an upgrade but if you wait until you next buy a pc then go for it.
i had a Vista home basic just purchased 2 months ago, and i have got so many problems with it.. the computer is too slow, and it crashes when i open an application. Compared to XP, xp is faster. When i use skype, my vista loaded computer keeps on chopping and crashes, it stops and there is had drive activity when in fact i am not opening any. don't know, maybe i just got a defective laptop. it is still under observation now.
Not a great deal of stuff out there is fully Vista compatible.
anyone can help me please. im desperate to send a mail via microsoft entourage. but the page just kept running, i tried to quit it and restart my computer, but didnt help.

sad. microsoft has copied Yahoo! answers EXACTLEY. it is called microsoft live or something.
whats your opinion. if you have one. or not. i was just trying to inform people that Yahoo has competition. whatever. maybe you wanted to know. maybe not. weird. sorry if i wasted your time. ok thanks. what does MSN stand for anyway. pshhh. k talk to you guys soon. i gotta get a life. pshhhh
It's not surprising. Seems on the internet it is a free for all when it comes to copying services. Think you need a set of iron clad patents to protect your ideas ;).
When one company has something that is sucessful, often the others follow ;).
It goes both ways however ;)
I didn't find Microsoft live (well I found but it's all about IM). Do you have a link?
you classify as a whole new category of retard.
congrats.

competition is good for us users, no competition, everyone end up using windows lol
Thanks for letting me know! Why does everything get duplicated???
My friend just asked me this question.
And I don't have any idea what the answer is !
The question was :
She has just bought herself a brand new laptop -
And she got a disc called Microsoft Works 8
She installed it and found out it doesn't have excel
Which she needs as she does a lot of graphs on this as she does A level maths.
She wanted to know if the disc should have excel on it, as when I got my brand new laptop I had excel .

"Works and Exell are two different programs....both are office suites but not the same!!
If you friend wants Exell...she will need to buy it and it's not cheap or she could download "OpenOffice" which is free and a better program than MSOffice!
http://www.openoffice.org/
You get Excel supplied with Microsoft Office which also has Micrsoft Word.
Works is not the same program.
How do you get Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 for free online and download it for free? I was hoping to get it.
Well if you don't want to use an illegal copy, just use Open Office. It's like the same thing. Sort of.
microsoft power point cant be downloaded alone... it is included on the package called microsoft office....
it is not free..... legally speaking
it is ... illegally
try searching for torrents......
but you have to use it at your own risk... because most of it contains.... trojans... spywares.... viruses.... but its free....
You can download tirl version of PPT 2007 at
http://ukireland.trymicrosoftoffice.com/...
There is no trial version of office 2003/
Any free full version of PowerPoint is illegal.
If you can not afford a legal copy of Microsoft Office use OpenOffice (free) instead. OpenOffice Impress is a clone of PowerPoint and can open PowerPoint files and save as a PowerPoint File.
Download a Microsoft Office 2007 60 day free trial

Trial programs contain the same functionality that you get when you buy the perpetual versions 鈥?but only for a limited time
In Microsoft Word 2003. Does anyone know why my cursor for new documents starts at the top with no margin? I checked the page setup and there are margins for the top and bottom. When I view headers, the margins show but I do not want to have to click show headers everytime I open a new document to see the margins. I deleted the normal.dot but no luck in fixing issue. I am in "print layout" view by the way.
Point your cursor to the very edge of the top of the page, but not to the bottom part of the ruler. (There is a grey line between the top of the page and the bottom of the ruler - you must point to that grey line) Two arrows will appear. Click and your margin will be back!
I've seen a box accidentally drawn and cause type to run around it. Word sometimes doesn't show clearly in print layout mode. Try typing a few lines and looking at the print preview. Although print layout is supposed to be accurate, it isn't always.
Hello, I have had the microsoft office 2000 program for 7 years now and I missed placed the key code on the front cover, Does anyone here can help me with obtaining a key code
THANKS A BUNCH%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; I will give you a nice Bonus for helping me :)
try googling serial site ...
What you are asking for is ILLEGAL! If you have misplaced your key code then you need to contact Microsoft to obtain a new one or buy it instead of pirating it.
if its still on your computer, you dont need the key.
Do NOT Google "Serial Site"! These sites are almost always filled with adware, spyware, etc. A good example is:
http://www.seriall.com/
Don't go there, it's got adware!
I can't tell you a good site, though, because that's piracy. Like others said, call Microsoft. They will likely give you a new code.
Illegal! Just buy the software again. If it's from 7 years ago, chances are there will be an entirely new version out anyway.
as part of their Trustworthy Computing initiative. However, in their heyday, Microsoft鈥檚 developers created some really elaborate Easter Eggs.
SO WTF?
Easter Eggs referr to hidden functions and features burried within the code and accessible via a keyboard sequence.
Since these features are not widely known nor part of the main program they are not necessarily maintained or tested as the main code.
A buggy Easter Egg could potentially be exploited. 99.99% of the users aren't even aware that they exist so they won't even know they are missing from future software.
:(
Easter Eggs were fun. The Excel one with the embedded flight simulator was the best!
soooo
What you are saying is that Bill Gates is now resigning his position as the Easter Bunny?
I knew Bill Gates was the anti-Christ!!
hmmmm, interesting, i wonder how this will turn out, i'll miss my easter eggs!
Microsoft? Are they the ones who create nasty viruses on the VDU so you have to purchase and install their anti-virus Trojan condoms for the pleasure and privilage.
I don't know about Easter, but their software now regularly lays an egg, often broken.
Microsoft is going downhill day by day. If only people would get out of their comfort zones and started using free software such and linux and other GPL stuff, would companies take notice and help the free software community.
Thanks to microsoft and its corporate attitude, they've become the proverbial party poopers. Im doing the best I can to migrate all my friends to non microsoft technologies. I install, troubleshoot ubuntu linux free for anyone who requests it.
Hail Free software. Die microsoft die.
Which is the better operating system, and can I run Microsoft Word/Excel on Apple, if I were to purchase an Apple desktop? I'm thinking about buying the Mac Mini.
Mac Mini is an amazing machine!
You take your old monitor, your old keyboard, your old programs! You run XP on the side. While enjoying new programs on OS X.
The best of both worlds. It's one of the BEST machines around for running Windows (and of course OS X)
Given the choices, and knowing that Vista is nothing but crap...I would say go Tiger. I will if XP ever drops out of support.
Why not consider buying a full install of XP Pro?
I recently heard that Microsoft is attempting to purchase Yahoo!, and by doing this, they are trying to compete with Google. Here's the thing... I've always thought that Microsoft and Google had some sort of partnership; for Google is always the default search engine on new Microsoft computers. Since when were they rivals? And even so, what are they competing for? Google is a search engine, while microsoft primarily produces computers, software, and other equipment. Is microsoft trying to enter the search engine business?
Also, if this deal pulls through, will yahoo and MSN merge? And what will happen to services like Answers and eMail?
Google is not only a search engine. Google offers many things like news, email, and much more. I think Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo for the network. Currently, Microsoft has the MSN and Windows Live networks. And no...Google and Microsoft are no way affiliated. No one knows what is going to happen with the yahoo and MSN services.
my understanding microsoft buys yahoo, so it can the buy out google and be come a monopoly, most search engines are compatible, the majority use goggle, not saying its the best search engine, thats another debate, I use webferret, google altavista. A monopoly won't survive due to public opinion and freedom to choose, that will be taken away, so it is a wait n see senario
I don't know about Microsoft purchasing Yahoo! or its subsidiaries, but I do not believe Google has a relationship with Google. On Microsoft Windows computers, the default search is always MSN Search, now under the "Windows Live" tree. Microsoft has been attempting to dominate the search engine business for quite sometime, ever since "the new MSN search," and before that also. If such a thing happens, services like Answers and e-mail should remain intact.
I have been using Microsoft Office 2003 for quite some time now and I haven't had any problems with it. However, Recently i have not been able to open the program....every time I try, a window pops up which starts the installation even though I haven't un-installed it before. Normally I would just re-install it except that I dont have the CD key............
Is there any way to fix this error?
Thanks!

Download Belarc Advisor and run it. It will create an htm file and open the browser up. With any luck it will show you the cd key number of all the installed programs including windows.
Sounds like you've got some malware on your computer! Turn off System Restore,(so you don't back up malware!),run your best Anti-malware programs,(anti-spy, anti-virus, etc.), and then do a System Restore,(from Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, System Restore-up on the left) You can contact Microsoft Support on the phone, and tell them your serial number, they'll guide you through a new key, and installing it,(if you need it after System Restore!)
Have you checked to see if you have a virus? Try running your AV program in Safe Mode.
If this doesn't do the job, and assuming you have a legitimate program, you can find the product key:
Replace Lost Office Product Keys

***Top 3 free keyfinder programs***

MS might give you a CD key if you ask, they have tightened their rules so good luck. They may look at it as not there problem and will tell you there is no way for them to look at the Cd's you claim to have.
Try running the Office repair utility. If that doesn't work, you'll have to find a key elsewhere. (Bit Torrent, Limewire ect..)
My software is Microsoft Word 97. When I try to open a certain saved document of mine, I get the simple answer "Word cannot open the document". It suggests opening the document from the File menu and checking to make sure the document has a .DOC extension. I have done both, and it will not open. None of my other documents act this way; they all open on command. I have tried everything I can think of and while I don't want this document to be toast, it very well may be. Does anyone know how on earth I can open it, or even why it's acting like this?? Thanks!!
if you have ms word 97 into your computer and it would not open the document, it could probably because the document that you want to open is save using a higher version of ms word...
try opening it into word 2003 or 2007, and then save as the file using save as type word 97...
after doing that, you should be able to open your file again...
hope this helps you...
If that is the error you received, Then for sure, the file you are trying to open is not in a .doc extension. If you are really sure that you make and save your file using ms office word, Then this could be the problem. Maybe, your file has a (.) period. fro example, your file name is your a full name ex ( raymond b.francisco) If you save it that way, (with period between two letters) it will not save as an MS office word file.
Copy it to a disk or thumb drive and see if you can open it on a different computer.
Have you tried changing the file extension to rtf and see if that works.
Reasons why:
if it's on a floppy, it won't open because of space.
The file may be corrupt.
The file extension may not be correct (try lowercase, make sure there's no extra spaces)
I have to at least buy Microsoft Office I have figured out because I have to have Microsoft Word. I am starting online classes and I have to submit my work in Microsoft Word. Do I need to buy anything other than Microsoft Office?
Media Center XP is fine. Get the Microsoft Office Students and Teachers addition. Big savings over regular office, also, if your running XP you could get the 2003 version of MS Office cheaper than the current 2007 version. No big advantage to using 2007, unless your class requires that version.
No, Media Center is an enhanced version of XP and does not need any special add on's.
As someone has said, Media Center is just Windows XP with some extra stuff. So no need to change it. Also, you will probably find that you are allowed to submit work that's saved in RTF format rather than Word's .DOC format, and free programs such as OpenOffice will do this. So you may not have to buy Word either.
in microsoft exel, how do you put your own number on the side like the numbers that are there? not in the graph on the side of it. how can i put my own numbers in?(please be specific)
I don't exactly know your question. Is it the DATA that you want to view to change? If so, then click on Chart-Data or call up the Charting toolbar and click on the icon that looks like a spreadsheet. (little cells) and should bring up your data sheet.
If you're looking to input the numbers along the side and bottom of your chart - (i.e. Quarter 1,2,3,4 along the bottom and 10,000,20,000,30,000, etc along the left side,If you click on CHART on the toolbar, there are many options there. X axis and Y axis which controls the series (X names usually along the bottom) on the left and the VALUE (usually numbers that go along the side)
Not sure what you mean, but you can graph your own numbers by putting two column of data in multiple rows, select the data, then right click on it and choose the graphing option (assuming you installed the graphing add-in).
I have no idea how to do that
really, I don't
we had to do it for math class-I think I got a bad grade...
I think your asking about the number scale on the Y axis (left side). If so, put your cursor on that side and right click the mouse. Select Format axis, select scale.
If your talking about the legend it's the same only start with the cursor on the legend. MS help is pretty good as an aid.
Anyone know where I can download Microsoft Publisher 2003 for FREE online?
Microsoft Publisher 2003 always act a little weirdo, try using 2007, it comes complete all in one.
